Once we settled into our south Jersey home, addressing Hutch's bathing needs, once again, became a priority. One of the first major modifications we made was a proper roll-in shower.
We were incredibly lucky to find a wonderful contractor through a recommendation in our community newsletter. He expertly transformed the space, removing the old tub and installing a spacious, tiled roll-in shower. The improvement was remarkable.
Then came Florida, and a bathroom with so much potential. The space was significantly larger, giving us the opportunity to create something truly special. We decided on a complete remodel.
Enter Cory, our amazing Florida contractor. We spent hours discussing Hutch's specific needs: a spacious roll-in shower and a sink he could easily roll under. Cory listened, measured, and truly understood our vision.
The original bathroom featured a large, sunken tub in the corner. We had it removed, and Cory built a massive shower spanning the entire width of the room. It was truly luxurious.
Next, the double sink vanity had to go. We opted for a single, wide sink, designed for accessibility. To achieve the perfect height and clearance for Hutch's wheelchair, Cory ingeniously used two base kitchen cabinets. An 8-foot countertop from Lowe's completed the setup.
And there you have it: a fully wheelchair-accessible bathroom, meticulously crafted to meet Hutch's needs. A testament to thoughtful design and the power of finding the right people to bring our vision to life.
